THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK RESOLUTION NO. 765 Title Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of 689-691 Fifth Avenue, a.k.a. 1 East 54th Street, the "Aeolian Building", Manhattan, Designation List No. 342, LP-2125 (L.U. No. 385; 20035138 HKM; N 030257 HKM). Body By Council Members Katz and Felder WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on December 16, 2002 a copy of its designation dated December 10, 2002 (the "Designation"), of the Aeolian Building (later Elizabeth Arden Building) located at 689-691 Fifth Avenue, a.k.a. 1 East 54th Street, Community District 5, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 1290/Lot 1 as its landmark site, pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter; WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter; WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on February 12, 2003 its report on the Designation dated February 5, 2003 (the "Report"); WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on March 4, 2003; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation; RESOLVED: Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation. _________ Adopted.
