A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to ownership of service pipes in the area that was supplied with water by the Jamaica Water Supply Company.

 

 Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

Section 1. Subchapter 1 of chapter 3 of title 24 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 24-309.1 to read as follows:

§ 24-309.1 Service pipes in the area formerly supplied with water by the Jamaica Water Supply Company.  a. As used in this section, “service pipe” shall have the same meaning as in section 24-316. 

b. All service pipes serving buildings classified in occupancy groups J-1, J-2 and J-3 that are located within the area of the city that was supplied with water by the Jamaica Water Supply Company, at the time such company was acquired by the City, shall be the property of the city.

§ 2. This local law shall take effect sixty days after its enactment.
