THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK RESOLUTION NO. 562 Title Resolution approving the decision of the City Planning Commission on ULURP No. C 020632 PSK (L.U. No. 285), a site selection of property located on the west side of Buffalo Avenue between Bergen Street and St. Marks Avenue, Site 2b within the Crown Heights Urban Renewal Area (Block 1356/Lots 30-35, 37-51, 53, and 54), and on the northeast corner of Buffalo and St. Marks Avenues, Site 2d within the Crown Heights Urban Renewal Area (Block 1357/Lots 1-3); Brooklyn, for use as a museum and accessory parking. Body By Council Members Katz and Martinez WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission filed with the Council on September 26, 2002 its decision dated September 18, 2002 (the "Decision") on the application submitted pursuant to Section 197-c of the New York City Charter by the Department of Cultural Affairs for site selection of property located on the west side of Buffalo Avenue between Bergen Street and St. Marks Avenue, Site 2b within the Crown Heights Urban Renewal Area (Block 1356/Lots 30-35, 37-51, 53, and 54), and on the northeast corner of Buffalo and St. Marks Avenues, Site 2d within the Crown Heights Urban Renewal Area (Block 1357/Lots 1-3), Community District 8, Borough of Brooklyn (the "Site"), for use as a museum and accessory parking (ULURP No. C 020632 PSK) (the "Application"); WHEREAS, the Application is related to ULURP Applications Number C 020631 HUK (L.U. No. 284), amendment to an urban renewal plan; and C 020633 HDK (L.U. No. 286), disposition of city-owned property; WHEREAS, the Decision is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 197-d(b)(3) of the City Charter; WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Decision and Application on October 15, 2002; WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration, issued on February 25, 2002, (CEQR No. 02HPD006K); and _________ Page 2 of 2 C 020632 PSK Res. No. 285) WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Decision and Application; RESOLVED: The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment.
