THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK RESOLUTION NO. 126 Title Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the 94-100 Lafayette Street Building (now called the Avildsen Building) located at 94-98 Lafayette Street, Manhattan, Designation List No. 332, LP-2107 (L.U. No. 97; 20025172 HKM; N 020283 HKM). Body By Council Members Katz and Felder WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on December 27, 2001 a copy of its designation dated December 18, 2001 (the "Designation"), of the 94-100 Lafayette Street Building (now called the Avildsen Building) located at 94-100 Lafayette Street, Borough of Manhattan, as a historic landmark and Block 195, Lot 17 as its landmark site, pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter; WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter; WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on February 12, 2002 its report on the Designation dated February 6, 2002 (the "Report"); WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on March 5, 2002; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation; RESOLVED: Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
