Res. No. 1976 Title Resolution pursuant to Section 19-511.1 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York to review twenty-eight determinations by the Taxi and Limousine Commission to approve applications for the renewal of a license to operate a base station and ten determinations by the Taxi and Limousine Commission to approve applications for new licenses to operate a base station. Body By Council Member Dear Whereas, Subdivision (g) of section 19-511 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York provides that upon receiving an application for the issuance of a license for a new base station or for the renewal of a license for a base station, the Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) shall, within five business days, submit a copy of such application to the Council and to the district office of the Council Member and the Community Board for the area in which the base station is or would be located; and, Whereas, Section 19-511.1 of the Administrative Code provides that any determination by TLC to approve an application for a license to operate a new base station or to renew a license to operate a base station shall be subject to review by the Council; and, Whereas, Within ninety days of the first Stated Meeting following receipt of such determination and its accompanying materials, the Council may approve or disapprove such determination by local law, after having adopted a resolution to review that determination; and, Whereas, Should the Council not timely adopt a resolution to review the TLC's determination or, having done so, not timely pass a local law with respect to such determination, the approval by TLC of an application to operate a new base station or for renewal of a license to operate a base station shall remain in effect; and, Whereas, The Taxi and Limousine Commission made determinations to approve twenty-eight applications for renewal of a base station license that were submitted to the Council as Communications by the Mayor numbers M-1157 through M-1184; and, Whereas, These determinations were made with respect to the applications of Bay Parkway Car Svc. Inc. also known as Bay Parkway Car Service, Inc.; Broad Dyckman Car Service Inc. also known as Broad Dyckman Car Service, Inc.; Metro Car Service Corp. doing business as Metroline Car Service also known as Metroline Car Service Corp.; New Enrico's Car Service Corp.; The Greater Car Service, Inc. doing business as Nick's Car Service also known as The Greater Car Service Inc.; AVES USA Inc. doing business as Ave. S car & Limo Service also known as AVES USA, INC. also known as AVES USA, Inc. doing business as S Car & Limo Service; Allen Car Service Inc. also known as Allen Car Service, Inc.; Vic & Bay Car Service, Inc. doing business as DeJoy's Red Top; Quisquella Car Service, Inc. also known as Quisquella Car Service Inc.; Emunah Car Service Inc. also known as Emunah Service Inc.; Quality Car Service Inc. also known as T.J.O. Livery Corp. doing business as Village Car Service; and, Whereas, The Taxi and Limousine Commission made ten determinations to approve applications for a license to operate a new base station that were submitted to the Council as Communications by the Mayor number M-1136 and numbers M-1148 through M-1156; and Whereas, The determinations for new licenses to operate a base station were made with respect to the applications by Chelsea Express Car, Inc. also known as Chelsea Express Car Inc.; New York Express Limousine Inc. doing business as NYX Limo; GD NewClifton Express Car Service, Inc.; K&W Car Service, Inc. also known as K&W Car Service Inc.; New Cypress Car Service Corp.; On Your Way Car Service, Inc.; 50 Stars Incorporated; Primus Car Service; Nakdima Car Service; and Angel ABC Limo & Travel, Inc.; and Whereas, The first Stated Meeting subsequent to receipt of the submission of Chelsea Express Car, Inc. was held on May 9, 2001; and Whereas, The first Stated Meeting subsequent to receipt of the other thirty-seven submissions was held on May 23, 2001 now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the Council hereby invokes its authority pursuant to Section 19-511.1 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York to review twenty-eight determinations by the Taxi and Limousine Commission to approve applications for the renewal of a license to operate a base station and ten determinations by the Taxi and Limousine Commission to approve applications for new licenses to operate a base station.
