Body By Council Members Miller, Eisland, Michels, Moskowitz and Pinkett; also Council Member Koslowitz Whereas, a bill has been introduced in the New York State Legislature by Assembly Members Scarborough, Diaz, M. Cohen, Dinowitz, Stringer, Greene and Ortiz, et al, A.4924, "AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to requiring school speed limits to be no more than twenty miles per hour in cities having a population in excess of one million"; and Whereas, the enactment of the above State Legislation requires the concurrence of the Council of the City of New York as the local legislative body; now, therefore, be it Resolved, that the Council of the City of New York, in accordance with the provisions of Section 2 of Article 9 of the Constitution of the State of New York, does hereby request the New York State Legislature to enact into law the aforesaid pending bill.
