THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK RESOLUTION NO. 1593 Title Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Hamilton Heights/Sugar Hill Historic District which consists of property generally bounded by St. Nicholas Avenue, West 145th Street, Convent Avenue, West 147th Street and Edgecombe Avenue, Manhattan, Designation List No. 316, LP- 2064 (L.U. No. 847; 20015014 HKM (N 010010 HKM). Body By Council Members Eisland and Sabini WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on July 7, 2000 a copy of its designation dated June 27, 2000 (the "Designation"), of the Hamilton Heights/Sugar Hill Historic District which consists of property generally bounded by St. Nicholas Avenue, West 145th Street, Convent Avenue, West 147th Street and Edgecombe Avenue, Borough of Manhattan, as a historic landmark district, pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter; WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter; WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on August 30, 2000 its report on the Designation dated August 23, 2000 (the "Report"); WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on October 10, 2000; WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation; RESOLVED: Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation. ______________ Page 2 of 2 20015014 HKM (N 010010 HKM) Reso.
