THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK RESOLUTION NO. 1198 Title Resolution approving the decision of the City Planning Commission on ULURP No. C 990525 PCR (L.U. No. 656), a site selection and an acquisition of property located on the west side of Wright Street, between Canal Street and Broad Street (Block 526, Lot 1), Staten Island, for use as a library. Body By Council Members Eisland and Sabini WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission filed with the Council on January 6, 2000 its decision dated January 5, 2000 (the "Decision") on the application submitted pursuant to Section 197-c of the New York City Charter by the Department of Citywide Administrative Services and the New York Public Library for site selection and acquisition of property located on the west side of Wright Street, between Canal Street and Broad Street (Block 526, Lot 1), Borough of Staten Island (the "Site"), for use as a public library (ULURP No. C 990525 PCR) (the "Application"); WHEREAS, the Decision is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 197-d(b)(3) of the City Charter; WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Decision and Application on February 8, 2000; WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration issued on July 8, 1999 (CEQR No. 99NPL001R); and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Decision and Application; RESOLVED: The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment. __________ ____________ Page 2 of 2 C 990525 PCR Reso.
