Res. No. 1075 Title Resolution calling upon the appropriate committee of the Council of the City of New York to conduct an oversight hearing regarding the delay of wage payments to day care workers by the Administration for Children's Services. Body By Council Members Lopez, Eldridge, Espada, Carrion, Clarke, DiBrienza, Malave-Dilan, Eisland, Freed, Henry, Perkins; also Council Members Foster, Harrison, Koslowitz, Lasher, Linares, Michels, O'Donovan, Pinkett, Rivera, Robles, Rodriguez, Watkins, White and The Public Advocate (Mr. Green). Whereas, The safety and care of children is of utmost importance; and Whereas, Safe and reliable day care is essential for parents to be able to work and support their children; and Whereas, Day care workers must be fairly and adequately compensated for the vital work that they do; and Whereas, Recently, the Administration for Children's Services has delayed the payment of wages to day care workers for up to one month at certain day care centers; now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the appropriate committee of the Council of the City of New York conduct an oversight hearing regarding the delay of wage payments to day care workers by the Administration for Children's Services.
