A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to a database on afterschool programs.
 
 
Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
 
 
      Section 1.  Chapter 4 of title 21 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 21-404 to read as follows:
      21-404 Database on afterschool programs. a. The department, in consultation with the department of parks and recreation, shall establish and maintain a public online searchable and interactive database on the city website that shall include summaries of all city-funded afterschool programs offered in the city of New York. Where such information is available, the department shall also include non-city funded afterschool programs in the database. The database shall include the program name, contact information, a description of the curriculum, age range of the youth served, whether such program was funded through a city, state or federal agency, and links to the specific afterschool program's website.
      b. The department shall provide a method to allow non-city funded afterschool programs to register for inclusion in such database.
      c. The department shall also provide an interactive map on such city website displaying the locations of all afterschool programs listed in such database.
      ยง2. This local law shall take effect one hundred and eighty days after its enactment into law.
