Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Barbizon Hotel for Women, located at 140 East 63rd Street, aka 136-146 East 63rd Street, 813-817 Lexington Avenue (Tax Map Block 1397, Lots 1501-1588), Borough of Manhattan, Designation List No. 454, LP-2495 (L.U. No. 649; 20125693 HKM; N 120298 HKM).

      WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on April 27, 2012 a copy of its designation dated April 17, 2012 (the "Designation"), of the Barbizon Hotel for Women located at 140 East 63rd Street, aka 136-146 East 63rd Street, 813-817 Lexington Avenue, Community District 8, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Tax Map Block 1397, Lots 1501-1588, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;
 
WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;
 
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on June 22, 2012, its report on the Designation dated June 20, 2012 (the "Report");
 
WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on July 23, 2012; and
 
WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;
 
RESOLVED:
 
Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
