A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to penalties for obstruction of sidewalks and courtyards.
 
 
Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
 
Section 1.  Section 19-136 of chapter one of title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by amending subdivision b to read as follows:
b. 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, directly or indirectly, to use any portion of a sidewalk or courtyard, established by law, between building line and then the curb line for the parking, storage, display or sale of motor vehicles.
2.  A first or second violation of paragraph one of this subdivision shall be subject to a fine of not less than two hundred sixty-five dollars.
3.  A third or subsequent violation of paragraph one of this subdivision shall be subject to a fine of not less than five hundred fifteen dollars.   
ยง 2.  This local law shall take effect sixty days after its enactment.
