THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK RESOLUTION NO. 1127 Title Resolution disapproving the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, located at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue, Manhattan, Designation List No. 347, LP-2127 (L.U. No. 508; 20045002 HKM; N 030551 HKM). Body By Council Members Katz and Felder WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on June 27, 2003 a copy of its designation dated June 17, 2003 (the "Designation"), of The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, located at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue, aka 1021 Amsterdam Avenue, 1061 Amsterdam Avenue, 419 West 110th Street, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 1865, Lot 1 in part, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter; WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter; WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on August 20, 2003, its report on the Designation dated August 13, 2003 (the "Report"); WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held public hearings on the Designation on September 23, 2003 and October 24, 2003; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation; RESOLVED: Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council disapproves the Designation.
