RESOLUTION NO. 1109

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the McCarren Play Center located in McCarren Park (Block 2696, Lot 1), Borough of Brooklyn, Designation List No. 394, LP-2244 (Preconsidered L.U. No. 586; 20085044 HKK (N 080029 HKK).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on August 3, 2007, a copy of its designation dated July 24, 2007 (the "Designation"), of the McCarren Play Center located in McCarren Park, Community District 1, Borough of Brooklyn, as a landmark and Block 2696, Lot 1 in part, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on September 7, 2007 its report on the Designation dated September 5, 2007 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on October 9, 2007; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
