RESOLUTION NO. 1769

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Betsy Head Play Center, located in Betsy Head Memorial Playground at Thomas Boyland Street (Hopkinson Avenue) between Livonia and Dumont Avenues (Block 3570, Lot 1), Borough of Brooklyn, Designation List No. 405, LP-2240 (L.U. No. 953; 20095188 HKK (N 090118 HKK).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on September 23, 2008 a copy of its designation dated September 16, 2008 (the "Designation"), of the Betsy Head Play Center, located in Betsy Head Memorial Playground at Thomas Boyland Street (Hopkinson Avenue) between Livonia and Dumont Avenues, Community District 16, Borough of Brooklyn, as a landmark and Block 3570, Lot 1 in part, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on November 20, 2008 its report on the Designation dated November 19, 2008 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on December 15, 2008; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
