Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the (Former) United States Rubber Company Building located at 1790 Broadway, Designation List No. 322, LP-2078 (L.U. No. 986; 20015175 HKM; N 010287 HKM).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on December 29, 2000 a copy of its designation dated December 19, 2000 (the "Designation"), of the (Former) United States Rubber Company Building, located at 1790 Broadway (a.k.a. 1784-1790 Broadway and 234 West 58th Street), Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 1029/Lot 53, as its landmark site, pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;
WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on February 22, 2001, its report on the Designation dated February 14, 2001 (the "Report");
WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on April 3, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;
RESOLVED:
Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
