THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK RESOLUTION NO. 1079 Title Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of Newtown High School located at 48-01 90th Street, Queens, Designation List No. 348, LP-2131 (L.U. No. 534; 20045004 HKQ; N 040010 HKQ). Body By Council Members Katz and Felder WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on July 3, 2003 a copy of its designation dated June 24, 2003 (the "Designation"), of Newtown High School located at 48-01 90th Street (a/k/a 48-02 91st Street), Community District 4, Borough of Queens, as a landmark and Block 1849, Lot 1, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter; WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter; WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on August 29, 2003, its report on the Designation dated August 27, 2003 (the "Report"); WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on September 23, 2003; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation; RESOLVED: Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
