THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK RESOLUTION NO. 1714 Title Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Whitehall Building located at 17 Battery Place (Block 15/Lot 7501), Designation List No. 317, LP-2056 (L.U. No. 944; 20015090 HKM; N 010183 HKM). Body By Council Members Eisland and Sabini WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on October 30, 2000 a copy of its designation dated October 17, 2000 (the "Designation"), of the Whitehall Building located at 17 Battery Place (a.k.a. 1-17 West Street), Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 15/Lot 7501 as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter; WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter; WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on December 18, 2000, its report on the Designation dated December 13, 2000 (the "Report"); WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on January 9, 2001; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation; RESOLVED: Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
