THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK RESOLUTION NO. 689 Title Resolution approving the disposition of city-owned property located at Block 7487, part of Lot 100 in Charleston, Staten Island to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority/New York City Transit for use as a bus maintenance facility (20035116 TAR; L.U. No. 355). Body By Council Member Katz WHEREAS, by letter dated November 8, 2002 the Metropolitan Transportation Authority ("MTA New York City Transit") informed Community Board 3 of Staten Island of its intention to acquire real property from the City of New York for use as a bus maintenance facility (the "Application"); WHEREAS, Section 1266(c) (5) of the New York State Public Authorities Law affords the Community Board a forty-five (45) day period in which to approve or disapprove such application; WHEREAS, by letter dated December 6, 2002 the Community Board informed the Council of its approval of the application; WHEREAS, Section 1266(c) (5) of the New York State Public Authorities Law affords the Council, as successor to the Board of Estimate, a forty-five (45) day period in which to approve or disapprove such application; WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Application on January 14, 2003; WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the application; RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 1266 (c) (5) of the New York State Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the disposition of property located at Block 7487, part of Lot 100, Charleston, Staten Island to the MTA New York City Transit. _______ Page 2 of 2 20035116 TAR Res.
