RESOLUTION NO. 675

 

Resolution approving the site plan for a public school facility to be located at 202 Sherman Avenue (aka 186-196 Sherman Avenue), Manhattan (Non-ULURP No. 20075167 SCM; Preconsidered L.U. No. 361).

 

By Council Members Katz and Lappin

 

                          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on December 12, 2006, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for an approximately 600-Seat primary/intermediate public school facility, known as P.S./I.S. 263-Manhattan, serving students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade to be located at 202 Sherman Avenue (aka 186-196 Sherman Avenue) Block 2226/Tax Block 41), in DOE Instructional Region No. 10/Community School District 6, Community Board 12, Borough of Manhattan (the "Site Plan");

 

                         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;

 

                          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on December 14, 2006;

 

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration issued November 14, 2006 (SEQR Project Number 07-006); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;

 

RESOLVED:

                               

                     The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment.

 

                     Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
