RESOLUTION NO. 447

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the building located at 2 Park Avenue (aka 37-53 East 32nd Street, 40-58 East 33rd Street), Manhattan, Designation List No. 372, LP-2186 (L.U. No. 183; 20065499 HKM; N 060453 HKM).

 

By Council Members Katz and Lappin

 

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on May 12, 2006 a copy of its designation dated April 18, 2006 (the "Designation"), of the building located at 2 Park Avenue (aka 37-53 East 32nd Street, 40-58 East 33rd Street), Community District 5, Borough of Manhattan, as an historic landmark and Block 862, Lot 29, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on June 9, 2006 its report on the Designation dated June 7, 2006 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on July 17, 2006; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
