A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to restrictions on the location of buildings and other structures on Eastern parkway

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

Section 1. Subdivisions a and b of section 18-112 of the administrative code of the city of New York are amended to read as follows:

§ 18-112 Restrictions on Eastern parkway, etc. a. It shall be unlawful for buildings or other erections, except porches, piazzas, fences, fountains and statuary to remain or at any time to be placed upon any of the lots fronting upon Eastern parkway, from Washington avenue easterly to [the extension of Eastern parkway, or upon the extension of Eastern parkway to Bushwick avenue] Ralph avenue and on the southerly street line of Eastern parkway from Ralph avenue to Pitkin avenue, within thirty feet from the line or sides of such streets respectively.

b. The intervening spaces of land on each side of Eastern parkway [and the Eastern parkway extension] from Washington avenue easterly to Ralph avenue and on the southerly street line of Eastern parkway from Ralph avenue to Pitkin avenue shall be used only for court-yards, and may be planted with trees and shrubbery, and may be otherwise ornamented at the discretion of the respective owners or occupants thereof.

§ 2. This local law takes effect immediately and shall apply to buildings and structures erected prior to such date.
