Title
State Legislation Resolution requesting the New York State Legislature to pass bills introduced by Senator Maltese, S.7976-A, and by Committee on Rules, A.11239-A, "AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to combining the correction officers' variable supplements fund provided for in such code and the correction captains' and above variable supplements fund provided for such code into a single correction officers' variable supplements fund for eligible service retirees of the uniformed force of the New York city department of correction in all ranks, the benefits payable by and the structure and assets of such variable supplements fund, the method of determining the payability and amount of investment earnings of the New York city employees' retirement system which are eligible for transfer from such retirement system to such variable supplements fund, and in relation to providing for the transfer of assets from the New York city employees' retirement system to the transit police officer's variable supplements fund provided for in such code, the transit police superior officers' variable supplements fund provided for in such code, the housing police officer's variable supplements fund provided for in such code and the housing police superior officers' variable supplements fund provided for in such code in such amounts as are necessary for such variable supplements funds to pay benefits which are guaranteed to eligible beneficiaries of such funds, and repealing paragraph (d) of subdivision three of section 13-194 of such code, relating to arbitration of certain matters where the board of trustees of the correction officers' variable supplements fund deadlocks thereon, and repealing subdivisions 97 and 98 of section 13-101 of such code and section 13-195 of such code, relating to the provisions governing the correction captains' and above variable supplements fund ".

Whereas, The enactment of the above State Legislation requires the concurrence of the Council of the City of New York as the local legislative body; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the Council of the City of New York, in accordance with the provisions of Section 2 of Article 9 of the Constitution of the State of New York, does hereby request the New York State Legislature to enact into law the aforesaid pending bills.
