THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK RESOLUTION NO. 1997 Title Resolution approving the site plan for Public School 499-Queens (P.S./I.S. 499-Q), to be located generally on the south side of Reeves Avenue between 149th and 150th Streets, Queens (Non-ULURP No. 20015355 SCQ; L.U. No. 1132). Body By Council Members Eisland and Sabini WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on June 14, 2001, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a public school facility known as P.S/I.S. 499-Queens, with a capacity of up to 534 seats to serve pre-kindergarten through eighth grades, to be generally located on the south side of Reeves Avenue between 149th and 150th Streets (Block 6507/Lot 100 in portion), Flushing, Borough of Queens (the "Site Plan"); WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law; WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on June 19, 2001 and recessed until June 28, 2001; WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Conditional Negative Declaration issued April 6, 2001 (SCA Project Number 01-010); and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan; RESOLVED: __________ Page 2 of 2 20015355 SCQ Reso. No. 1997 (L.U. No. 1132) The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment provided the following mitigation measure is implemented: 1. The New York City Board of Education "[p]etition the New York City Department of Transportation prior to the completion of construction to implement traffic signal timing modifications to result in no significant adverse impacts on traffic and transportation in the project area." Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan. Adopted.
