Summary: This bill would allow the Commissioner of Finance to exercise discretion over certain informational requirements set forth in section 11-138 of the Administrative Code concerning the Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption and Disability Rent Increase Exemption programs.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to making certain informational requirements for notices concerning rent increase exemption programs discretionary

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

Section 1.  Subdivision c of section 11-138 of the administrative code of the city of New York, as added by local law number 13 for the year 2016, is amended by adding a new paragraph 3 to read as follows:

3. Notwithstanding paragraph 1 of this subdivision, the commissioner of finance may, in their discretion, omit information otherwise required to be included in a notice pursuant to such paragraph where including such information would not promote the goals of the senior citizen rent increase exemption or disability rent increase exemption program.

§ 2. This local law takes effect immediately.
