A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to prohibiting the doubling up of families in Tier II shelters.
 
 
Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
 
      Section 1.  Title 21 of the administrative code of the city of New York is hereby amended by adding a new section 21-310 to read as follows:
      §21-310  Prohibiting the doubling up of families in Tier II shelters.  The city shall not permit the placement of two or more unrelated families in an apartment-style unit of a Tier II shelter, as defined in section 900.2 of title 18 of the official compilation of the codes, rules and regulations of the state of New York.
      §2.      This local law shall take effect immediately.
