A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to referring 311 non-emergency traffic condition complaints to the transportation bureau of the police department
Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 3 of title 23 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 23-314 to read as follows:
§ 23-314 Non-emergency traffic condition complaints and requests for service. a. The department of information technology and telecommunications through its 311 customer service center shall refer non-emergency traffic condition complaints to the transportation bureau of the police department for resolution.
b. Within such non-emergency traffic condition complaint category, the public shall have the ability to submit a complaint relating to any non-emergency traffic condition, including, but not limited to, the following:
1. Drag racing;
2. Chronic speeding;
3. Congestion and gridlock;
4. Truck route violations; and
5. Any additional non-emergency traffic condition the department deems necessary.
§ 2. This local law takes effect 90 days after it becomes law.
