THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 547

 

Resolution approving the decision of the City Planning Commission on ULURP No. C 030331 MEM, an amendment to the City Map (L.U. No. 226).

 

By Council Members Katz and Martinez

 

 

                           WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission filed with the Council on July 7, 2004, its decision dated June 23, 2004 (the "Decision"), on the application submitted by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (DRP) and the United States National Park Service (NPS), pursuant to Sections 197-c and 199 of the New York City Charter, for a change in the City Map involving:

 

                     the delineation of two permanent easements within Riverside Park located between Henry Hudson Parkway and Riverside Drive East, north of West 122nd Street; and

 

                     any acquisition or disposition or real property related thereto,

 

in accordance with Map No. 30213 dated January 27, 2004 and signed by the Borough President, Community District 9, Borough of Manhattan (ULURP No. C 030331 MEM) (the "Application");

 

                           WHEREAS, the Decision is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 197-d(b)(3) of the City Charter;

 

                           WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Decision and Application on August 9, 2004;

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Decision and Application; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration, issued on January 14, 2004 (CEQR No. 03DPR004M);

 

RESOLVED:

 

                           The Council finds the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment.

                           Pursuant to Sections 197-d and 199 of the New York City Charter, the Council approves the Decision.
