Whereas, bills have been introduced in the New York State Legislature by Senator Spano. S.3068-A, and Assembly Members Abbate, McEneny, Seddio, Cymbrowitz and Lavelle, et al, A.10360, "AN ACT to amend chapter 677 of the laws of 1977, amending the civil service law relating to the rights extended by a public employer to an employee organization in certain cases, chapter 678 of the laws of 1977, amending the civil service law relating to the rights of a public employee organization and chapter 606 of the laws of 1992, amending the civil service law and the general municipal law relating to rights extended by a public employer to an employee organization in certain cases, in relation to eliminating the expiration of certain provisions thereof"; and
Whereas, the enactment of the above State Legislation requires the concurrence of the Council of the City of New York as the local legislative body; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, that the Council of the City of New York, in accordance with the provisions of Section 2 of Article 9 of the Constitution of the State of New York, does hereby request the New York State Legislature to enact into law the aforesaid pending bills.
