A Local Law to amend the New York city charter, in relation to providing stipends for community board members

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

Section 1. Subdivision c of section 2800 of the New York city charter, as amended by local law number 102 for the year 1977, is amended to read as follows:

c. [Members] Each member of a community [boards] board shall [serve as such without compensation but] receive a stipend in the amount of $25 for each hour that the member has attended a meeting or hearing held under subdivision h of this section or a meeting held under subdivision i of this section, not to exceed $100 per month. Each member of a community board shall additionally be reimbursed for actual and necessary out-of-pocket expenses in connection with attendance at regularly scheduled meetings of the community board.

§ 2. This local law takes effect immediately.
