RESOLUTION NO. 615

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the New York and New Jersey Telephone and Telegraph Building located at 81 Willoughby Street (Block 148, Lot 46), Brooklyn, Designation List No. 355, LP-2156 (L.U. No. 251; 20055019 HKK; N 050012 HKK).

                     WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on July 8, 2004 a copy of its designation dated June 29, 2004 (the "Designation"), of the New York and New Jersey Telephone and Telegraph Building located at 81 Willoughby Street (aka 119-127 Lawrence Street), Community District 2, Borough of Brooklyn as a landmark and Block 148, Lot 46 as its landmark site, pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on August 16, 2004 its report on the Designation dated August 11, 2004 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on September 7, 2004 and recessed until September 21, 2004; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
