Notes: District 11 - Council Member - Democrat - Bedford Park, Kingsbridge, Riverdale, Norwood, Van Cortlandt Village, Wakefield, Woodlawn - Andrew Cohen was elected to the City Council on November 5, 2013 and began his first term on January 1, 2014. He serves the 11th Council District, which includes the Bronx neighborhoods of Bedford Park, Kingsbridge, Norwood, Riverdale, Van Cortlandt Village, Wakefield, and Woodlawn. A lifelong resident of New York City, Cohen has always had a strong commitment to serving and improving our city. He is a strong advocate of education and is a product of the New York City public school system. He completed his undergraduate degree at SUNY New Paltz and earned his law degree at Benjamin Cardozo School of Law. Prior to being elected to the City Council, Cohen served as a Court Attorney to a Bronx Supreme Court Justice and as an Adjunct Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Council Member Cohen currently serves as the Chair of the State and Federal Legislation Committee. Additionally, he serves on the Committee on Parks and Recreation, Committee on Education, Committee on Finance, Committee on Parks and Recreation, and Committee on Public Safety; as well as, he is a member of the Bronx Delegation and the Jewish Caucus.
