A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the establishment of an immigrant affairs coordinator within the department of parks and recreation.
 
 
Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
      Section 1.  Chapter one of title eighteen of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 18-140 to read as follows:
      §18-140 Establishment of immigrant affairs coordinator. There shall be established within the department the position of "Immigrant Affairs Coordinator".  The duties of any person who shall have this position shall be determined by the commissioner, and shall include, but need not be limited to, acting as liaison to immigrant communities throughout New York city on behalf of the department, and consulting with other members of the department on program implementation as it relates to immigrants.
§2.       This local law shall take effect one hundred eighty days after its enactment.
