THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 928

 

Resolution approving the site plan for a new, approximately 800-seat intermediate/high school facility for the Queens Gateway to Health Sciences Secondary School to be located generally on the south side of Goethals Avenue between 160th Street and 162nd Street (Block 6858, Lot 1 in portion), Queens (Non-ULURP No. 20075545 SCQ; Preconsidered L.U. No. 477).

                          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on June 6, 2007, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a new, approximately 800-seat intermediate/high school facility for the Queens Gateway to Health Sciences Secondary School (“Gateway School”), to be located generally on the south side of Goethals Avenue between 160th Street and 162nd Street (Block 6858, Lot 1 in portion), in DOE Instructional Region No. 3/Community School District No. 28, Community Board No. 8, Borough of Queens (the "Site Plan");

 

                         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;

 

                          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on June 14, 2007;

 

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Conditional Negative Declaration issued January 29, 2007 (SEQR Project Number 07-008); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                          The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment provided that the condition enumerated in the environmental report (attached hereto as Appendix A and incorporated herein) is implemented; and

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

                           Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
