THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK RESOLUTION NO. 1504 Title Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Children's Aid Society, Tompkins Square Lodging House, located at 295 East 8th Street (aka 127-129 Avenue B), Manhattan, Designation List No. 313, LP-2055 (L.U. No. 799; 20005437 HKM; N 000608 HKM). Body By Council Members Eisland and Sabini WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on May 26, 2000 a copy of its designation dated May 16, 2000 (the "Designation"), of the Children's Aid Society, Tompkins Square Lodging House, located at 295 East 8th Street (aka 127-129 Avenue B), Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 391, Lot 1, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter; WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter; WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on July 14, 2000, its report on the Designation dated July 12, 2000 (the "Report"); WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on August 21, 2000; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation; RESOLVED: Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
