RESOLUTION NO. 2152

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Fort Washington Presbyterian Church, located at 21 Wadsworth Avenue (aka 21-27 Wadsworth Avenue, 617-619 West 174th Street) (Block 2143, Lot 38 in part), Borough of Manhattan, Designation List No. 414, LP-2337 (L.U. No. 1172; 20095655 HKM; N 090458 HKM).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on May 20, 2009 a copy of its designation dated May 12, 2009 (the "Designation"), of the Fort Washington Presbyterian Church, located at 21 Wadsworth Avenue (aka 21-27 Wadsworth Avenue, 617-619 West 174th Street), Community District 12, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 2143, Lot 38 in part, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on July 2, 2009 its report on the Designation dated July 1, 2009 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on August 18, 2009; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
