THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 1790

 

Resolution approving the decision of the City Planning Commission on ULURP No. C 070443 MMX, an amendment to the City Map (L.U. No. 959).

 

By Council Members Katz and Garodnick

 

                     WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission filed with the Council on December 19, 2008 its decision dated December 17, 2008 (the "Decision"), on the application submitted by the New York City Economic Development Corporation and the Department of Small Business Services, pursuant to Sections 197-c and 199 of the New York City Charter and Section 5-430 et seq. of the New York City Administrative Code, for an amendment to the City Map involving: 

 

                     the establishment of Food Center Drive and Hunt’s Point Landing east of Halleck                      Street;

                     the elimination, discontinuance and closing of Hunt’s Point Avenue between Halleck                      Street and the U.S. Bulkhead Line, Farragut Street between Hunt’s Point Avenue and                      the U.S. Bulkhead Line, Viele Avenue between Halleck Street and Hunt’s Point                      Avenue, and a                      portion of Ryawa Avenue between Halleck Street and Hunt’s Point                      Avenue;

                     the widening of Halleck Street between Hunt’s Point Avenue and Viele Avenue;

                     the modification and delineation of sewer corridors necessitated thereby;

                     the adjustment of grades necessitated thereby; and

                     any acquisition or disposition of real property related thereto,

 

in accordance with Map No. 13120, dated June 20, 2008, and signed by the Borough President, (ULURP No. C 070443 MMX), Community District 2, Borough of the Bronx (the "Application");

 

                           WHEREAS, the Decision is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 197-d(b)(1) of the City Charter;

 

                           WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Decision and Application on January 26, 2009;

                          

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration, issued on April 11, 2008, with respect to this application (CEQR No. 08SBS005X); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Decision and Application;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                     The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment.

 

                           Pursuant to Sections 197-d and 199 of the New York City Charter, the Council approves the Decision.
