THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 927

 

Resolution approving the decision of the City Planning Commission on ULURP No. C  070236 PSM (L.U. No. 468), site selection of property located at 2590 First Avenue (Block 1811, Lots 21 and 209), Manhattan, for use as a salt storage facility.

 

By Council Members Katz and Lappin

 

                           WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission filed with the Council on May 11, 2007 its decision dated May 9, 2007 (the "Decision") on the application submitted pursuant to Section 197-c of the New York City Charter by the Department of Citywide Administrative Services and the Department of Sanitation for site selection of property located at 2590 First Avenue (Block 1811, Lots 21 and 209), Community District 11, Borough of Manhattan (the "Site"), for use as a salt storage facility (ULURP No. C 070236 PSM) (the "Application");

 

                     WHEREAS, the Application is related to ULURP Application Number C 070235 ZMM (L.U. No. 467), an amendment to the Zoning Map to rezone Cuvillier Park from an R7-2 District to an M1-1 District;

 

                           WHEREAS, the Decision is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 197-d(b)(3) of the City Charter;

 

                           WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Decision and Application on June 6, 2007;

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration, issued on November 13, 2006 (CEQR Number 07-DOS-001M); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Decision and Application;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                           The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment.
