Resolution approving the site plan for a public school facility to be located on the south side of East 176th Street between Bathgate and Third Avenues (Block 2923, Lots 17, 23 and 26), Bronx
 
 
By Council Members Katz and Lappin
 
          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on April 12, 2007 a site plan dated April 9, 2007 pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a new, approximately 570-seat intermediate/high school facility, known as Eagle Academy For Young Men, Bronx, to be located at the south side of East 176th Street between Bathgate and Third Avenues (Block 2923, Lots 17, 23 and 26), in DOE Instructional Region No. 1/Community School District No. 9, Community Board No. 6, Borough of the Bronx (the "Site Plan");
 
         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;
 
          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on April 17, 2007;
 
      WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Conditional Negative Declaration issued on March 9, 2007 (SEQR Project Number 07-011); and
 
      WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;
 
RESOLVED:
                
      The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment provided that the measures enumerated in the attached report are adhered to.

            Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
