RESOLUTION NO. 704

 

Resolution affirming the designation amendment by the Landmarks Preservation Commission to the City and Suburban Homes Company, First Avenue Estate located at 429 East 64th Street and 430 East 65th Street (Block 1459/Lot 22), Manhattan, Designation List No. 383, LP 1692-A (Preconsidered L.U. No. 367; 20075169 HKM; N 070224 HKM).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on December 1, 2006 a copy of its designation amendment dated November 21, 2006 (the "Designation Amendment"), to include the City and Suburban Homes Company, First Avenue Estate located at 429 East 64th Street and 430 East 65th Street, Community District 8, Borough of Manhattan, as a historic landmark and Block 1459/Lot 22, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation Amendment is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on January 11, 2007, its report on the Designation Amendment dated January 10, 2007 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on January 30, 2007; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation Amendment;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation Amendment and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation Amendment.
