RESOLUTION NO. 515

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of Orchard Beach Bathhouse and Promenade, located at 895 Pelham Shore Road (also known as 1 Orchard Beach Road, Pelham Bay Park), (Block 5650, part of Lot 1), the Bronx, Designation List No. 377, LP-2197 (L.U. No. 241; 20065579 HKX; N 070001 HKX).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on June 30, 2006 a copy of its designation dated June 20, 2006 (the "Designation"), of Orchard Beach Bathhouse and Promenade, located at 895 Pelham Shore Road (also known as 1 Orchard Beach Road, Pelham Bay Park), Community District 10, Borough of the Bronx, as a landmark and Block 5650, Lot 1 in part, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on August 11, 2006, its report on the Designation dated August 9, 2006 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on September 7, 2006; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
